Entertainment

Ventura has plenty to keep you entertained day and night, but ultimately you can choose to do as little or as much as you like. There is ample space around the four swimming pools for sun-worshippers to relax, and the sports courts are great for those who like to stay a little more active, with basketball, tennis and football on offer. Many of the bars and lounges will host quizzes or talks during the day and there are often a range of classic and modern movies showing in the Tamarind Club. In the evening, the entertainment changes, with music, dancing and shows available across the ship. Head up to the Metropolis Bar to admire the changing city skyline on the 20m plasma screen as you listen to live music, dance the night away in the Havana nightclub, or join in with pub quizzes and karaoke competitions in The Exchange Pub. If you like a good show then a visit to the Arena Theatre is a must as you can watch West-End style productions, musicals and cabaret acts.

Health and Fitness

The Oasis Spa on board Ventura has an extensive range of facilities and treatments so you are bound to leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. There are large treatment rooms all with ocean views where you can enjoy a variety of traditional and modern treatments, including massages, acupuncture and facials. In the thermal suite you'll find steam rooms and saunas, plus whirlpools and an endless pool outside. A new addition to The Oasis Spa coming in Spring 2013 will be The Retreat; an outdoor terrace that will be exclusively just for adults, providing a tranquil space to relax in the sun or enjoy a spa treatment in one of the private cabanas. Adjacent to the spa is the gym, which has all the latest fitness equipment including spinning bikes, cross-trainers and treadmills, as well as weights machines and a free weights area. The gym also has a separate exercise area for fitness classes such as yoga, pilates and aerobics. Click here to see a selection of available beauty treatments.

Trivia

Did you know that Ventura is the sister ship to Azura and is 1.4m longer, but hold 22 fewer guests. Ventura's length is the same as 3 football pitches or the height of the Eiffel Tower.

Children's Facilities

Kids of all ages will be in their element on board Ventura, and probably won't want to ever leave! The Reef is the dedicated children's area which is split in to various age groups aged 2 to 17, and each offer a wide variety of activities and facilities suited to that age group. Younger children can enjoy playing in the ball pool and on the indoor climbing frame, as well as fun games, arts and crafts, competitions and sports games. Directly outside the main club there is also an outdoor play area and a children's splash pool. Older children and teens have their own separate areas where they can watch the latest movies, play the latest games consoles and play sports, and in the evening they can enjoy karaoke contests and parties. The clubs are usually open from 9am until 10.30pm, with some extending until 2am for older children and teens during the school holidays. Ventura was the first ship in the fleet to introduce the Night Nursery for under 5's, and Slumber Time for 5-8 year olds is available during peak times.

Mr J Warington-smyth 08/05/2017

Cabin Rating : 5
Excellent value for money. Very comfortable beds and well laid out suite. We loved the balcony. The beds were always turned down for us in the evening and our steward could not have been more helpful.

Dining Rating : 4
Very difficult to find fault! Great choice of restaurants, and food but the experience was made more enjoyable due to the excellent staff, who were very attentive, polite and helpful. Waiting times between courses were minimal but we never felt rushed.

Entertainment Rating : 4
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening in the theatre when we were entertained by a singing/dancing group performing songs from musicals.

Ship Rating : 5
We never felt crowded on board despite there being over 3000 passengers. It was always possible to find a quiet spot to enjoy being at sea. A very well run and maintained ship.

Entertainment Rating : 3
GARY BARLOW WAS THE BEST

Ship Rating : 5
NO FAULTS AT ALL A VERY ENJOYABLE TIME

Mrs S Tobin 04/05/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
Lots of hanging space, actual bedroom not as big as other cruise ships. Beds very comfortable, probably the best I have slept in away from home. Balcony not the biggest, just about managed to get 2 chairs on.

Dining Rating : 4
Buffet a little chaotic. Ephiqurian was excellent. Breakfast a little disorganised with the worst tea and coffee!

Entertainment Rating : 2

Ship Rating : 4
Loved the fact no extra service charges on bar purchases. Also relaxed atmosphere re bringing drinks on board. The free shuttle bus from the shop was a great bonus. Also charged in GBP so not hit by exchange.

Mr T Harris 03/05/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
inside double, adequate room for our needs, useful to have interactive tv

Dining Rating : 4
generally good, howevr, some meals not up to the standard we would expect, disappointed that some tables were set for 10 when 8 should be the maximum

Entertainment Rating : 3
too many tribute acts and comedians, unable to get a seat at the main venue within 30 mins of start, also secondary venue very badly designed and not suitable for the acts performing there

Ship Rating : 3
needed some remedial work and looked a little tired, a little larger that I would normally prefer

Mr P Gordon 29/04/2017

Cabin Rating : 4

Mr P Dean 29/04/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
Good cabin, but d├ęcor is a bit tired.

Dining Rating : 5
Freedom dining is excellent. To only complaint I had was regarding the fruit salad which was 90% melon[hardly a fruit salad] and as I am NOT a pudding person it left me with only ice-cream as an option.

Entertainment Rating : 5
First class, particularly the Headliners

Ship Rating : 4
Good but must be due for a refit soon, decor throughout looking tired

Mrs J Dodd 29/04/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
It was really nice could only have bettered it by paying for an outside cabin.

Dining Rating : 5
Food was lovely, we had freedom dining which is our favourite. Everything great ! Nothing too much trouble.

Entertainment Rating : 4
The headliners were great as was the comedian but didn't really enjoy the tribute acts.

Ship Rating : 5
We loved every aspect of it . It is very clean and kept immaculate by the staff

Mr C Hutchins 29/04/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
Absolutely fine - just as you would expect from an inside. Good position and no noise.

Dining Rating : 5
Very impressed. P&O have certainly upped their standards and the options. Table stewards were excellent.

Entertainment Rating : 3
It was Ok. The Headliners (which dont normally appeal to us) were the best we have seen. The comedian Jeff Stevenson was brilliant despite having an uncooperative audience. Much of the rest was mediocre, but entertaining. There were problems many nights in that you could not get into the show lounge or the theatre unless you got a seat about an hour before the show started! This applied to people on set dinner sittings. If on Freedom you probably stood a better chance.

Ship Rating : 4
We went on the Maiden and said never again. Nine years later we were very pleased.

Mr M Wood 29/04/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
For an inside cabin it was quite roomy, loads of hanging and drawer space.

Dining Rating : 3
Entertainment Rating : 4
Ship Rating : 4
Liked the ship, personally prefer the smaller P&O ships, carpets showing a lot of wear in places.

Mrs L Grace 13/04/2017

Cabin Rating : 5
spacious enough and clean tea and coffee making facilities very welcome

Dining Rating : 3
only three of us at a table for eight. would have appreciated some re arrangement so as to provide more people at the table

Entertainment Rating : 4
Ship Rating : 5
generally has many facilities for all ages staff mostly welcoming although the odd grumpy person

Ms S Howard 05/04/2017

Cabin Rating : 5
It was lovely and clean.

Dining Rating : 5
We loved the mdr but also enjoyed the evening buffet. Food is plentiful with a wide choice. It's so easy to put the pounds on. I never felt rushed .

Entertainment Rating : 5
The headliners are fabulous in their shows. Also some good artist and comedians. It's hard to get a seat in the arena for the 8.30 show unless you got there at least 40 mins before start, no problem for seats at 10.30

Ship Rating : 4
The pools could be a bit warmer, on the plus side I loved Julia the artist on board and enjoyed yhe painting. I do love ventura and it's my 3 cruise on this ship .
