Entertainment

Oceana's wide open decks give you plenty of room to enjoy sunny days by the pool or a casual stroll around the Promenade deck, which also hosts deck games such as shuffleboard and quoits. Bars are something of a feature on board Oceana, with no less than 12 to choose from. During the day many of them are used for competitions and quizzes as well as port talks and enrichment classes, whilst in the evening you can enjoy a variety of different entertainment including live music and dancing. The Yacht and Compass bar has a distinctly British feel to it, with well-known ales and beers plus pub quizzes and live bands. Winners' is a great modern bar adjacent to the Monte Carlo casino and is a popular spot for pre and post dinner drinks, whilst Starlights Show Lounge hosts dancing, live music, comedians and cabaret acts. Head to Footlights Theatre for fantastic West-End style shows, or dance the night away in Le Club nightclub, which received a brand new look during Oceana's latest refurbishment.

Health and Fitness

The Oasis Spa on board Oceana is a peaceful haven where you can relax and unwind. Choose from a variety of traditional and modern treatments such as massages and hot stone therapy in the sea-view treatment rooms, relieve stresses and strains in the sauna, or simply relax in the outdoor pool and whirlpools which are conveniently located right outside the spa. You can also make use of the Oasis Salon which is adjacent to the spa and offers a great choice of hair and beauty treatments. Oceana's gym is close to the spa area and is well equipped with the latest fitness machines and weights, plus a separate exercise area for fitness classes such as aerobics, yoga and spinning. Click here to see a selection of available beauty treatments.

Trivia

Oceana makes such good use of the space on board that even the ships funnel has an alternative use! Cleverly housed within the lower part of the funnel is the sports court where you can play a variety of sports including basketball, football and tennis.

Children's Facilities

Oceana has always been a popular choice for families and it's easy to see why with such great children's facilities. The Reef is the dedicated children's club which is available every day for children aged 2 to 17 years of age. The club is split up into smaller age groups and offers a fantastic variety of activities and facilities to suit that age group. Younger children can take part in games, treasure hunts and games whilst older children will have talent contests, pool parties and sports games. There is also a children's splash pool located close to the children's area. Teens have their own area where they can listen to music, watch the latest movies and play the latest games consoles, plus there are sports tournaments, movie nights and pool parties. The children's clubs are usually open from 9am until 10.30pm, although this may be slightly later during peak times and school holidays. There is also a Night Nursery available for under 5's from 6pm until 2am and during school holidays Slumber Time is available for 5 to 8 year olds from 10.30pm until midnight.

Samples of the main dining menus can be found here.

Signature Dining

Cafe Jardin - Speciality Bistro

Cafe Jardin was created with the idea of a traditional French bistro in mind, offering a casual atmosphere and a great choice of food. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as morning, afternoon and late night snacks. The menu was created with the help of culinary legend Marco Pierre White and features a range of hot and cold food including pastries, soup, sandwiches and salad, as well as steak, seafood and poultry. A cover charge does apply for dinner of approx. £7.25 per person for 2 courses and approx. £10.50 per person for 3 courses. You can click here to see an example of the evening menu.

The Beach House - Speciality Al Fresco Grill

There is a cover charge of between £2.50 to £5.50 each for individual light snacks and approx. £10. for per person for dinner. As there is limited seating at the Beach House it's best to book a table in advance via the P&O Cruise Personaliser, or once you arrive onboard. You can click here to see an example menu.

Alternative Dining

The Plaza - Self-service Buffet

The Plaza is a self-service buffet restaurant and it is a popular alternative to the main dining room as it has a more informal atmosphere. The restaurant opens from 6.30am until 10pm serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as brunch and afternoon snacks. In the evening, the restaurant becomes slightly more formal for dinner, with waiter service available and themed dining including Indian, Oriental and Italian dishes. The Plaza also offers an early children's tea at 5.15pm which has lots of children's favourites such as fish fingers, pasta, sausages and chicken nuggets.

Tiffany's Lounge - Coffee Shop

Tiffany's is a casual coffee shop by day and lively bar in the evening. The menu offers a range of Costa Coffee as well as speciality tea, hot chocolate drinks and soft drinks throughout the day, whilst in the evening you can enjoy a cocktail or two whilst listening to the live music in the Atrium. A selection of pastries, cakes and sandwiches are also available throughout the day.

Sundaes - Ice Cream Parlour

Sundaes is right next to the main pool area so it's a really popular spot on hot days. The bar is open from 10am until 6pm and it offers a good choice of different ice cream flavours and toppings in wafer cones or tubs.

Oceana Reviews

Mrs P Nesbitt 11/11/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
Inside cabin but very comfortable. TV gave is info on weather outside. Kept immaculately clean by our steward. Excellent value for money.

Dining Rating : 5
Food brilliant. Chose Freedom dining - not rushed at all. Nice atmosphere.

Entertainment Rating : 4
Very professional and plenty of venues to choose from.

Ship Rating : 5
Enjoyed comfortable lounges and sun decks on nice days. Very clean and tidy. Plenty of good service.

Mr C Hutchins 11/11/2017

Cabin Rating : 5
We were a little concerned when allocated this cabin as it is above the Yacht and Compass. We only heard anything on nights we retired earlyish. It seems to be finished by around midnight. Although you could hear some music before midnight, it was quite gentle and not in any way intrusive. Not a problem. Layout of cabin is good.

Dining Rating : 5
We put in a preference for 2nd sitting and because it is not popular felt sure our request would be met. It wasnt! We were given Freedom - we were surprised as Freedom is usually the most popular. The Senior Restaurant Manager was also surprised when we asked him! We decided to try Freedom and it was fine. Enjoyed the experience. All waiters were as good as they always are. It was nice to meet lots of different people too.

Entertainment Rating : 3
We are not fans of the on board entertainment, especially not the Theatre Company, so our opinion is biased. Some of the act we saw were very good.

Ship Rating : 4
As good as always. May be even better after her refit at the end of the month.

Mr T Turner 09/10/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
Cabin small! Only one plug, difficulty charging multiple items. Cabin boy very obliging, nothing to much trouble.

Dining Rating : 4
Food good, some deserts repeated under different names! Service good, but could be a little slow, making you late for evening entertainment.

Entertainment Rating : 3
The onboard show team were only OK, had better on other P&O cruises with far better singers and dancers. Venues not big enough, stage small, not sufficient seating for popular shows, having to stand or sit on floor.

Ship Rating : 3
Too much out of order, toilets, lifts etc. Having a dress code, but not keeping to it! The atrium was beautiful.

Mrs A Stables 05/10/2017

Cabin Rating : 5
surprised how spacious the cabin was with three sharing

Dining Rating : 5
food is always very good.

Entertainment Rating : 3
the company show group always put on a great show. The comedian was excellent as was the Bluejays. The pianist and opera singer were not to my taste.

Ship Rating : 4
some areas in need of an upgrade looking a little tired......

Mr J Crawford 03/10/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
The cabin was clean and well cared for, the cabin steward could not do enough for you, the bed is comfortable some of the edges on the furniture are a little knocked, but overall great, the ship is being refitted in January.

Dining Rating : 3
The food was excellent always served hot, and plenty of choice, we did£ however have some issues in the linuiruan restaurant, som3 of the staff were rude up attentive , we asked for chips on one occasion at lunch to be treated like we were asking for the best cut of steak? We also had to wait for tea and coffee some mornings, and also we received the wrong food we had ordered, when challenged the matre de was helpful and dealt with it. The Adriatic restuarant was a lot better.

Entertainment Rating : 5
Excellent shows comedian Jay Mgee was hilarious, the show by the resident show team were very good.

Ship Rating : 4
Showing its age a little some staff niot as helpful as usual, our eighth cruise and the first we had reason to complain, 3 previous with P&O.

Mr M Gillett 20/08/2017

Cabin Rating : 3
Ocean view cabin, tiny bathroom, sufficient wardrobe space, good steward who kept everything clean

Dining Rating : 4
Wanted a table for 2 so had to move to 6.30 sitting, great location. Speciality restaurant was good with excellent service. Buffet was at times a scrum with rude people barging around, choice sufficient but not extensive

Entertainment Rating : 2
Poor, lacklustre, no comparison with Princess or Cunard

Ship Rating : 3
Second time on Oceana and it is badly in need of a refit , everything looks dated, worn carpets lack on cleanliness on corridors. It is not cheap but is not in the same league of many cruise ships, but suits Brits, that is however a poor excuse for the quality on offer. Menus are dated and stuck in a 1970s time warp

Mr S Halsey 17/08/2017

Cabin Rating : 5
Lovely cabin, ideally place to be for lifts and deck 12 and 14 really enjoy being in this cabin, the bed was really comfortable, and balcony was ideal

Dining Rating : 3
We only used the buffet on deck 14, some days the food was good and some days not so good, service was fine I was offered help with my tray and this would be taken to a table for me.

Entertainment Rating : 3
We only went to two shows while on board, the comendien and the ventriloquist and they were very entertaining.

Ship Rating : 4
We spent alot off time in the cabin and using the balcony, but we did use deck 12 and 14 which were OK, windows and mirrors in the were a little dirty but there was alot of children on board and staff were cleaning these areas.

Mr A Carr 06/08/2017
