Azura certainly doesn't disappoint when it comes to the variety of different restaurants on board with everything from self-service buffet to formal dining and British fine dining to exotic Indian cuisine.
The Peninsular Restaurant has fixed seating dining with waiter service and is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Breakfast is available between 7.30am and 9am and lunch is available between 12.15pm and 13.45pm, both with open seating.
Afternoon tea is served from 4pm to 4.45pm on a first-come, first-served basis. In the evening dinner is available at two fixed times of 6.30pm for first sitting and 8.30pm for second sitting, with the same table reserved each night. Samples of the main dining menus can be found here.
The Oriental Restaurant is also used for fixed seating dining with waiter service, but it is only open for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is usually available from 7.30am - 9am with open seating, and dinner is available at two fixed sittings at 6.30pm for first sitting and 8.30pm for second sitting, with the same table reserved for the duration of your cruise. Samples of the main dining menus can be found here.
The Meridian Restaurant offers Freedom Dining with waiter service and it is open for dinner only. As there are no set dining times or table plans, you just need to arrive anytime between 6pm and 9.30pm and you will be seated. If there are no tables available you will given a pager that will tell you when your table is ready. You can dine at a different table with different people each night if you want to. Samples of the main dining menus can be found here.
Sindhu is a new concept restaurant created by the 'master of spices' Atul Kochhar. Between 11am and 6pm you can enjoy Nashta (tapas) style food, whilst during the evening the menu features a variety of unique Indian dishes.
There is a cover charge of approx. £4.95 per person for the Nashta and approx £20 per person for dinner. As it's a very popular restaurant, you will need to book a table in advance which you can do via the P&O Cruise Personaliser or once you arrive onboard. The Glass House offers a huge variety of wine from all over the world and there's a great food menu to compliment each different type of wine, all devised with the help of wine expert and TV personality Olly Smith. The restaurant is open from 11am until 11pm daily and carries a basic cover charge of between £2.75 - £7.50 for individual dishes, or approx. £25 per person for a taster evening. As it is a speciality restaurant you will need to make a reservation in advance. A sample of the main daytime menu can be found here, or click to view the tasting menu here.
Epicurean has a distinctive British feel as it was designed in the style of some of London's most famous classic hotels. With its elegant decor and stunning sea views, the restaurant is a great alternative if you are celebrating a special occasion or want a more intimate dining experience. The restaurant is open from 6pm to 10pm and the menu features a wide selection of traditional British dishes, including Cornish Sea Bass, Welsh Lamb and Beef Fillet. There is a cover charge of approx £28 per person to dine here and a reservation will need to be made in advance via the P&O Cruise Personaliser or once you arrive onboard. If you are staying in a Suite then you will also be able to enjoy complimentary breakfast in Seventeen between 7.30am and 9am. A sample of the dinner menu can be found The Epicurean here.
If you prefer a more informal setting for dining then the Verona buffet restaurant is a great alternative to the more formal main dining room. It is open between 8am and 9.30pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving a wide variety of food from cereal and sandwiches to roast dinners and curry. You will also find a selection of tea and coffee available at the self-service machines, as well as water and fruit juice.
For dinner in the evening one side of the restaurant becomes an Italian Trattoria and has waiter service available, making it a slightly more formal setting for dinner, but still retaining the casual atmosphere. The best thing about the Verona restaurant is that it has no fixed dining times or table plans so you can come and go at a time that suits you!
The Venezia restaurant is right opposite the Verona restaurant and offers very similar cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant is open from 6.30am right through until 1.30am and serves afternoon tea and late night snacks in addition to the main meals. It is particularly popular with families because of the open dining times, and the restaurant offers an early children's tea at 5pm with lots of children's favourites on offer such as fish fingers, sausages, pasta, chicken nuggets and pizza.
The Java Cafe is a casual coffee shop located just off the Atrium. It serves a range of Costa Coffee including speciality teas and coffee plus hot chocolate drinks and soft drinks. A selection of pastries, cakes and other sweet treats are also available. The Java Cafe is usually open from around 8am until 11pm in the evening.
The Poolside Grill and Pizzeria are located at the Coral Pool so they are a popular place to grab a snack or light lunch if you are spending time around the pool. The Pizzeria has a wide selection of freshly-made pizza with a choice of popular toppings on offer. On the opposite side of the pool is the Grill which serves hamburgers, chicken, hot sandwiches and fish with chips and salad. Both venues are open from 11am until 7pm and open seating is available around the pool area.
