Samples of the main dining menus can be found here.

Signature Dining

The Ocean Grill - Speciality Al Fresco Grill

The Ocean Grill is a more relaxed restaurant whose menu was created by British celebrity chef Marco Pierre White. You'll find a wide array of delicious meals available, and wine expert Olly Smith has selected a number of fine wines to complement the menu.

Alternative Dining

The Belvedere Restaurant - Self-service Buffet

This casual dining restaurant is a very popular alternative to the more formal main dining room, especially as it is open almost 24 hours a day! Not only does the restaurant provide breakfast, lunch and dinner, but you can also enjoy brunch, afternoon snacks and late night snacks right up until 6am. Within the restaurant there are various food stations, serving a selection of hot and cold food, including cereal, sandwiches, soup, curry, pasta and salads, and many meals can be made to your specific requirements.

For dinner on selected nights there will be a set theme such as Chinese or Italian and waiter service will be available as well as the self-service buffet. The restaurant also has tea, coffee and water machines which are available all day for you to help yourself to.

Neptunes Grill - Casual Pool-side Dining

Open from 11am until 6pm, this casual eatery is the perfect place to grab lunch or an afternoon snack without having to venture into one of the main restaurants. Serving a variety of meals from salads to burgers, it's right by the pool so there's no set seating and you won't lose your spot by the pool.

Cafe Vivo - Coffee Shop

Found on the Promenade deck, Cafe Vivo is a great place to while away a spare hour or two. It serves a wide variety of tea and speciality coffee as well as delicious cakes, pastries and other snacks from 8am until 5:30pm.

Arcadia Reviews

Mr A Skinner 11/10/2017

Cabin Rating : 3
Nice cabin although after 24 days it could be a bit restrictive. In need of an update and refresh in terms of decor and fittings.

Dining Rating : 3
Main dining OK although the food is not 5* and did after 2 weeks seem to be repeating itself. Buffet awful with organised chaos, food in the wrong place, meat and fish mixed, while there was a tendency to run out of items and not refresh them unless asked.

Entertainment Rating : 4
Typical well presented shows by a good team of performers and some mixed guest acts, Great day time lectures saved the day for thos e spent at sea.

Ship Rating : 3
Ship is tired and in need of some major attention. Broken air conditioning, buckets to catch drips, wet and sodden floors, while some of the carpets were well worn.

A bit tight on space with three adults in it.

Dining Rating : 4
Dining rooms were very good but the buffet lacked variety.

A variety of quality.

Ship Rating : 3
It didn’t look good with buckets collecting leaky areas. Doors not sliding properly. Needs a bit of an update.

Ship needs some refurbishment

Dining Rating : 4
Sometimes service is a bit slow Eg one evening we were seated 30 minutes before any food was received and it was 1 hour 45 minutes before the final tea/coffee was served.

Ship Rating : 3
some very good some not so

Comfortable and had everything we needed.

Dining Rating : 4
Overall the food was very good. The Ocean Grill was very good - faultless. The MDR was very good and the Belvedere (buffet) was okay but we tended to use the MDR.

Entertainment Rating : 4
Saw a few shows which were very good - especially the ForTunes. Didn't take part in the organised activities.

Enjoyed the whole experience - a first time cruising for us...

Mrs A Ford 13/08/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
Our cabin steward was delightful. The cabin was clean and nicely positioned to access all areas of the ship.

Dining Rating : 1
We requested freedom dining. We were allocated second sitting (which we didn't mind) but on a table for eight (joining six strangers for dinner is our idea of hell). We joined the queue at the restaurant on the day of embarkation along with a lot of other unhappy passengers wanting to change. A restaurant supervisor asked us why we were in the queue and when we told him and said that we would like to be on a table for two if we couldn't do freedom dining, he said that the restaurant manager wouldn't see us and to come back the following day - not helpful at all! I explained that I did not want to be on a table at dinner with other people. I came on holiday to be with my husband. We are quiet, private people. This was our 18th cruise and only the second time we had not been allocated our preference. The other time funnily enough was Arcadia when we were put on a table for four. It was agony. We suffered the company of two unfriendly strangers twice at dinner which was not a nice experience and ate at the buffet after that. Needless to say we did not eat on the table of eight. Sharing your dining table is not for everyone and definitely not for us. I want to be relaxed at meal times. Yet we had no problem getting a table for two in the Meridien restaurant at breakfast or lunchtime - explain please !! The buffet evening experience was not great and spoilt the overall enjoyment of the cruise. The Indian night at the buffet was very popular but not being a lover of Indian food, I struggled to find anything I liked. The only non Indian food was lamb which I am not keen on. We couldn't find a table initially and ended up eating on a table that had not been cleared away - not a nice experience at all. If we had booked half board or full board in a 4 star hotel, which is what we compare a cruise to, there is no way we would have been expected to share a table if we had expressly said that we didn't want to. We ended up eating 4 evenings at the select dining venues. The food here was excellent but obviously came with extra cost and I was cross having to pay extra for the sort of dining experience we wanted. You don't share your table with other passengers in select dining venues!

Entertainment Rating : 4
We saw a classical pianist, a magician and a comedian whilst onboard. All were entertaining and we enjoyed the performances that we saw.

Ship Rating : 4
The ship itself was good. I loved adult only cruising. We have now done both family friendly and adult only cruising. However, as the evening meal for many of us, is one of the highlights of our cruise day, it is really important to get it right. My friend who is widowed loves dining on a large table of strangers as does my sister who is single. They go on a cruise with the intent of meeting new people unlike us. There is definitely a demand for this type of dining but passengers should be given the choice. P &O's attitude was actually if you want a specific dining preference you should book a select fare and not an early saver fare as we had done back in January. This would have added at least a further £400 to the cost of the cruise but still doesn't guarantee that you'll get your dining preference. We couldn't have afforded this additional cost so maybe we have reached a time where we say maybe cruising is no longer for us.

Mr G Coxon 09/08/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
It was a very nice cabin, we had chosen a cheaper option so did not expect luxury, but the bed and pillows were super comfy and it was a reasonable size too. We were low down in the ship and the window could have been bigger but was still fine, but it did have streaks of encrusted sea salt on it from before we arrived which remained for the entire cruise, so I did feel that it should have been cleaned at some point, to enhance our view. It was well equipped and neutrally decorated with some interesting/tasteful pictures on walls. It was a cosy and welcoming space for us.

Dining Rating : 5
We chose club dining and the food was excellent, you had lots of choice and it was beautifully presented. The waiters were charming and polite, making us feel special. We had a table for 2 by the window and the meal was efficiently served but never made you feel rushed. Breakfast was quite delicious. Afternoon tea was passable and a really nice little ritual, but not my favourite snack, as the sandwiches were a little unexciting and the cakes were to me rather sweet. The service though was still excellent and very professional. When we ate in the buffet, as we often did at lunch, there was a great selection most days. We particularly liked the Asian dishes such as Thai prawn curry, biriany, and lentil dahl. The burger and fish bar by the pool was pretty good but slightly variable in quality.

Entertainment Rating : 5
I did not expect to enjoy the entertainment as my previous experience was from all inclusive hotels. In fact this was on a different level altogether. The shows has productions were highly professional and well constructed and the comedians we watched were genuinely really funny and had me laughing aloud, so I had to eat my words having previously claimed it would undoubtedly be 'a bit lame'! We enjoyed the various quizzes, especially when there were prizes to be won, and there was a good atmosphere of camaraderie at these. The pianists and other smaller musical groups around the ship appeared to be very professional in quality although not all of it was to or taste, and it did lend a relaxed ambience to the ship's atmosphere.

Ship Rating : 5

Mr K Clapp 24/07/2017

Cabin Rating : 3
The cabin B38 was clean but a bit shabby, the door handles on the balcony are corroded and the lack of pictures make it a bit sole less. The bedside light is positioned on the headboard and mean you actually lean on them when trying to read in bed, they get hot and useless to see by so I ended up keeping my head to one side which wasn't very comfortable. Our cabin steward kept the cabin clean but didn't replace pool towels which was annoying as we had used them during the day. As this was a taster cruise we felt corners were cut, no sweets left in the cabin and on our last night no chocolate left for us and our bed wasn't turned down. Thought this was a bit mean as the cruise was a lot more per night than we usually spend on longer cruises.

Dining Rating : 3
We had a table for two and on the first night we had to queue for 20 minutes before we were seen, but we only had to wait five minutes for a table. The food was okay but not as much choice as we have had on the bigger ships and on the gala night the menu was poor and the lobster and steak was not on it so I had lamb which was okay but nothing special. I found the staff in the dining room pretty miserable, no smiles or small talk and they didn't seem very happy to be serving us. We were served quickly and I got the impression they wanted us to be quick. It wasn't fine dining but it was pleasant enough.

Entertainment Rating : 4
Really enjoyed the Headliners show, Killer Queen, they were excellent and the theatre was very nice with comfortable seats and great visual effects. Didn't fancy the Jersey Boys tribute act the second night. The various music around the ship was very good, especially the Jazz band that played in the Crows Nest on our first night.

Ship Rating : 4
We called Arcadia the Goldilocks ship as she is not too big or too small, easy to get around and plenty of entertainment venues. The buffet is well set out and didn't feel crowded. The pool areas are very nice although we did find the large hen and stag parties a bit much as the behaviour from these groups was appalling with them drinking around the pool all day, getting louder and then we witnessed mooning, food fights with other passengers getting hit by rolls from the buffet and continual swearing. One group of men were throwing rolls over the side of the ship so I guess anyone sitting on their balcony might have got food over themselves. As this was marketed as a celebration cruise we knew there would be these groups on board and in the past we have enjoyed watching them partying but this was the first time the behaviour felt intimidating and made us feel uncomfortable. To be fair to Arcadia this wasn't a reflection on the ship but I do think P&O should address the problem of rowdy and antisocial behaviour as the poor stewards serving them didn't know what to do.

Mr G Nichols 21/06/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
Spacious and nice balcony

Dining Rating : 4
2 nights before we could swap to early dining

Entertainment Rating : 4
Comedian Roy wood very good

Ship Rating : 5
Very steady and well run ship

Mr P Nicholson 21/06/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
Standard cabin condition for 12 year old ship with little down time. Balcony could have been cleaner.

Dining Rating : 3
Club dining food quality is going downhill. Bean counters seem to be in charge now. Main dining room (table 36) continuous throbbing from engine / propellers. 2nd sitting quality of some food gives the appearance of 1st sitting leftovers. Buffet restaurant mainly good

Entertainment Rating : 3
Some of the "entertainment" amateur or over loud and out of tune, little subtle background music played.

Ship Rating : 3
Needs updating with less input from bean counters. As usual TV when used programmes no volume.

Mr N Deabill 15/06/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
Clean and reasonably spacious balcony cabin

Dining Rating : 4
Good quality food throughout.

Entertainment Rating : 4
We enjoyed the shows we saw

Ship Rating : 3
Felt a little cramped on board especially when we could not get off in St Peter Port because of large swell.

Mr H Bevan 13/06/2017

Cabin Rating : 3
The cabin was small with limited floor space.Limited wardrobe and drawer space but we managed. The T.V. Was a good size and functioned well. The beds were very comfortable .The bedding was average. The cabin was kept spotless and the bedding was changed often. The towels were always fresh? On the one occasion we used room service because it was a very rough day,The food was excellent.

Dining Rating : 4
The food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff worked very hard to give us good service. The food in the Buffet was very average. Not a lot of choice on the hot buffet and the food was often lukewarm. The tables could be very crowded at times, and there were a limited number of tables out on the deck so it was only rarely possible to take our food outside and eat iit in peace.. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent with plenty of choice including healthy options.

Entertainment Rating : 5
The entertainment was excellent. Good comedians singers acrobats and variety shows My only problem was with the acoustics in the theatre..The sound was always so loud it was intolerable at times .I can only assume that the technicians in charge had themselves suffered damage from the excessive noise in the course of their employment and are no longer able to judge what is an acceptable level for the general public.

Ship Rating : 4
Attention should be given to the volume of noise and vibration from the ships engines which does detract from the enjoyment of dinner in the RestaurantAlso ,on the day before we disembarked at Southampton we were aware of a horrible smell in the buffet restaurant which could only have been sewage. When I spoke to a member of the crew about it he said that they were aware of it and it was due to a leaking pipe but that the engineers could not fix it until the ship docked at Southampton.Prior to our recent cruise we have booked another cruise in November.I just hope that some of the problems will have been dealt with by then.
