Food and Drink
Italians are well-known for enjoying good food and you will find the MSC Cruises fleet are no different! Each ship includes at least one main dining restaurant where you can enjoy a more formal setting for dinner at a fixed time with superb Mediterranean and International fine dining. In addition to the main restaurants there will be an informal buffet-style restaurant, giving you the option to dine more casually should you want to. You will also find superb speciality restaurants available on the mid-sized and larger ships, such as the Tex Mex restaurants on the Fantasia Class ships and the sushi restaurants on the Musica Class ships. In all of the restaurants you can enjoy an extensive wine menu plus there are plenty of bars and lounges open throughout the day and evening that serve cocktails, spirits, beer and soft drinks.
You can make your MSC cruise as lively or as relaxing as you like and there are certainly plenty of facilities onboard to help you do either. All of the ships feature an extensive range of entertainment options, from simply browsing the duty-free shops or taking an enrichment class, to a pampering spa treatment or a game of mini golf up on the top deck. In the evening the bars and lounges are alive with live music, cabaret acts and dancing, plus there will always be somewhere to enjoy a quiet pre or post dinner drink. Most of the ships also include a theatre where you can watch fantastic aerial acrobatics and production shows each night.
As a family run company, MSC Cruises are hugely popular for family cruising and have lots of great activities on offer for children of all ages. Dedicated children's clubs run each day for children aged 3 to 12 and for teenagers aged 13 to 17, all fully supervised by trained youth workers. For younger children the activities focus on fun and game such as treasure hunts, arts and crafts, parties and sports games, whilst older children and teens can listen to music, watch movies, play games consoles and join in with sports tournaments. The opening times can vary between ships, but the clubs are generally open from 10am until 10pm on sea days and 3pm to 10pm on port days, with breaks in between for the staff and children. MSC also offer Kids Club Port Service, which allows children to stay onboard the ship with a member of the youth team or within the children's club whilst the parents can go ashore on excursions.
