You will never be short of things to do on Queen Victoria. Spend lazy days around the swimming pools or take a stroll through the Royal Arcade's boutique shops. For something a little more challenging, you can join the Connexions programmes which offer a variety of activities including art classes, wine tasting and dance classes. And of course afternoon tea is held each day in the Queen's Room, with traditional fresh scones and cream. In the evening you will find a wealth of bars and lounges including the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar and the Commodore Club. Theatre lovers can see spectacular stage shows in the Royal Court Theatre and you will find live music in Hemispheres nightclub.
A visit to the Royal Spa is sure to leave you feeling relaxed and revitalised. The hydrotherapy pool will soothe aching muscles whilst the thermal suite is the perfect place to de-stress and unwind. The Spa itself has a host of innovative treatments and therapies available including acupuncture, Ionithermie treatments and Swedish massages. Sports enthusiasts can try their hand at tennis on the sports courts or improve their swing at the golf nets, and there are traditional sports like shuffleboard and deck quoits held up on deck. The spacious gym is filled with all the latest fitness equipment and various classes are held in the aerobics area throughout the day.
Did you know that Queen Victoria is home to the first museum at sea? Cunardia exhibits a host of memorabilia, souvenir's and artefacts from the original Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth and the QE2 including awards trophies and the Queen Mary's log book.
Kids of all ages will love the fantastic children's facilities available on Queen Victoria. Split in to various age groups, the clubs are run by fully trained youth staff who prepare a whole host of different activities. Young children can take part in treasure hunts, games and craft making, and there is also a play area with climbing frames and ball ponds. Dining is one of the many highlights you'll find on Queen Victoria and there is a no shortage of restaurants to choose from. In the Britannia Restaurant you can experience five-course dining in opulent surroundings, whilst passengers in Princess and Queens Grill Suites can enjoy al fresco dining out on the Grills Courtyard.
The Britannia Restaurant has fixed seating dining with waiter service and it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is usually available from 7.30am to 9.30am, whilst lunch is usually served between 12.30pm and 2pm, both with open seating.
Dinner is served at two fixed times of 6pm for first sitting and 8.30pm for second sitting and you will have the same table for the duration of your cruise. Samples of the main dining menus can be found here.
The Princess Grill Restaurant is open exclusively for passengers staying in a Princess Grill Suite. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with waiter service and open seating. Breakfast is normally available from 7.30am and 9.30am, whilst lunch is available from 12.30pm until 2pm. There are no set dining times for dinner so you can arrive anytime between 6.30pm and 9pm to be seated at your reserved table. Samples of the main dining menus can be found here.
The Queens Grill Restaurant is open exclusively for passengers staying in a Queens Grill Suite. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with open seating and waiter service. Breakfast is usually available from 7.30am until 9.30am and lunch is usually available from 12.30pm until 2pm. In the evening, dinner is available anytime between 6.30pm and 9pm, so you simply need to arrive at your chosen time to be seated at your reserved table. The Courtyard is located between the Princess Grill and Queens Grill Restaurants and offers exclusive al fresco dining to all passengers staying in a Princess Grill Suite or a Queens Grill Suite.
This speciality restaurant offers a wide variety of exciting dishes influenced by flavours of the Mediterranean; all designed by top chef Todd English. The restaurant is open for lunch between midday and 2pm and for dinner between 6pm and 9.30pm.
There is a cover charge of approx. $20 per person for lunch and approx. $30 per person for dinner, and you will need to book a table in advance via the Cunard Cruise Personaliser or once you arrive onboard. You can see a sample of the lunch menu here and a sample of the dinner menu here.
The Lido Restaurant transforms in the evening into a number of smaller dining venues with waiter service: Prime features delicious seafood and steaks; Coriander offers an array of Indian dishes; and Bamboo is an Asian fusion restaurant. There is a small cover charge of approx $10 per person to dine here or approx. $15 per person for a wine tasting package, and it is advisable to make a reservation in advance.
The Lido Restaurant is a very casual eatery that is popular with those looking for a more informal place to eat. It's open 24 hours a day, serving a great selection of hot and cold food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as desserts, fresh fruit, afternoon and late night snacks. In the evening a small section of the restaurant is turned into a fine dining venue with waiter service (see above Speciality Dining), giving you a choice between the informal and formal dining. Complimentary tea, coffee, water and juice are available at all times from the self-service machines.
Located close to The Lido is The Lido Grill, which is close to the main pool area and serves freshly-grilled hot food including hot dogs, chicken and burgers. It is generally open from around 11am until 6pm so it's very convenient for a light lunch or afternoon snack.
Cafe Corinthia is an informal cafe serving a variety of delicious tea and speciality coffee, as well as tempting sweet treats and pastries. During the evening, you will also find various cocktails on offer too.
The Golden Lion has a fantastic lunch menu serving a range of typical pub meals including fish and chips, burgers, cottage pie and steak and chips. The pub also has a wide variety of traditional British beer, ale and cider to further enhance the traditional pub atmosphere.
No cruise on board a Cunard ship would be complete without traditional afternoon tea. It is held in the Queen's Room Ballroom and The Winter Garden, and you will be served delicate cakes, finger sandwiches and fresh scones by the white gloved waiters.
