Cabin Rating : 5
A nice supries to receive an upgrade from inside to balcony cabin.Nice clean cabin with plenty of storage space and the bonus of having a tea/coffee making tray.

Dining Rating : 5
Good choice of dishes in the Kings Court buffet. The Brittania Restaurant menu was more limited than P&O and was repeated on a weekly basis.

Entertainment Rating : 4
Good variety

Ship Rating : 5
The best ship to be on even in stormy weather, the refit last year has made the liner even better than it used to be.The Kings Court is a great improvement.as is the atrium now the lifts have been removed.Overall now even better.

Perfect mid ships location, stable and near concierge lounge. Within short distance of stairs and lifts. Refurbished 2016 therefore fresh and tidy.

Dining Rating : 5
Top class service. Food was great was always hot, tasty and well presented.

Entertainment Rating : 5
Made own entertainment in the main but musicians throughout the ship in bars etc were good, did not attend any of the theatre shows.

Ship Rating : 5
Firm favourite ship therefore difficult to be completely objective. Like the style and ambiance of Cunard cruises and ship is a one off so always enjoy voyages on Queen Mary 2. Commodore club for after dinner drinks was a hit as always.

Pretty cramped, but we knew what we were getting into with an inside cabin. The shower was a little grimy and cramped.

Cabin Rating : 5
It was spacious very comfortable and situated in a very quiet area. It was near to the stairs and lifts and I was able to move around the ship with ease. The bed was so comfortable I even asked my cabin steward what mattresses they used !

Dining Rating : 5
I was on 1st seating on a table for 10. Excellent service was provided (table 66) from Marianne and Jan who looked after us exceptionally well and is to be praised for their friendliness. Nothing was rushed but if you had an event you wished to attend, they would make sure that you were on time. The food was good but a little repetative.

Entertainment Rating : 4
I went to some to the broadway shows and etc but the "classical" evenings did not appeal to me personaly.

Mr B Lewis 05/09/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
The shower is better than the ones on QE or QV. The shower cubical is larger and shower head can be hand held which makes it easier to use when washing hair. Although toilet stopped working a couple of times, it is much easier bathroom to use. The room has more storage space than cabins on QE or QV. The carpet looked a little grubby considering the ship had a majour refit last year. Perhaps they didn't change the carpets in inside cabins. Also, the location (on deck 5, aft) was convenient for us being between the Queens Room and Kings Court, as we like to dance in the Queens Room (deck 3, aft) most nights and have a snack afterward in Kings Court (deck 7).

Dining Rating : 4
The quality of food was good in both MDR and Kings Court buffet, but the layout of the Kings Court was difficult to navigate. The tables can be a long way off from the food and people traffic can jog you whilest carrying your food to your table while negotiating eldery/mature people struggling with carrying their food.

Entertainment Rating : 5
The Queens Room Orchestrestra was the best among Cunard's three ships. The Illumination planetariam was good for extra entertainment for cinema and short visual shows. We can not comment on the main shows in the theatre as we didn't attend any.

Ship Rating : 5
It's a very sturdy ship and quiet even in choppy seas and feels very safe.

Mr D Howlett 20/08/2017

Cabin Rating : 5
Luxurious look and feel to this compact yet well appointed cabin. We were never disappointed by the look of our room especially as it was maintained several times throughout the day. Ample storage, good facilities lovely bathroom.

Dining Rating : 5
Excellent service at all of the venues we used throughout the ship. The Britannia is breathtakingly beautiful and the service excellent. Small portions but sufficient courses. The Kong's Court is a joy to use as there are so many choices available throughout the day. Breakfast, cleverness, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper etc. We are both vegetarian and have never had so many wonderful choices.

Entertainment Rating : 5
Once again this was excellent. We were able to enjoy guest speakers, as well as the Showtime performances. The resident song and dance group excelled as did the guest vocalists and piano recitals. There were also the Gala ball nights and big band performances as well as a variety of musical performances throughout the ship and throughout the day, Including harpist, piano,Jazz trio, small band etc. We were also privileged to watch the rehearsal process and performance of a new musical. The planetarium shows were well presented and added to the varied entertainment and education on board. P.S. The theatres are a joy to walk into even without any performances!

Ship Rating : 5
Excellent throughout, an experience not to be missed. We have never been interested in cruising, but we did need to journey to New York, this is the only way to do it! I loved every inch of the ship and every second of the voyage. It is a huge privilege to be aboard this magnificent ship whose elegant lines are complimented by the wonderful decor throughout. To that we must add the variety of entertainment described above and the dining experiences. Everywhere you go including the storeroom have an elegance and beauty of their own. The gymnasium and the promenade deck help to maintain the waistline. I particular enjoyed watching the whales and dolphins on my morning jog. There is one other thing; from the moment we stepped on board we were treated as first class by everyone we met. This common courtesy from the staff seems to have a positive effect on all the passengers and the general mood of the ship. There appeared to be a really relaxed atmosphere throughout. 8 days that will live with me forever.

Mrs R Burdett 28/05/2017

Cabin Rating : 4
It was an enclosed balcony cabin. The balcony was nice and private but when you sat on the loungers provided you cant see the water or view! The noise from other balcony users was alarming! The cabin or state room as Cunard like to refer to them was a good size and tastefully decorated. It has tea and coffee making facilities which was a nice surprise. The television had a good choice of films and programmes. There was plenty of storage available. The bathroom was a typical cruise ship size and a little dated. However, the shower was very good.

Dining Rating : 4
The buffet restaurant The Kings Room had a food selection of food at all meal times. There was plenty of tables except when everyone decided to go to breakfast at the same time on disembarkation morning! The Britannia restaurant was on two levels and two sittings. The food was very good and the menus varied. The service was good and unobtrusive.

Entertainment Rating : 4
We were only on board for two nights and went to the shows on both evenings. The first night was typical musical and dancing. The second night was the Rewind Project a group of 4 musicians (from 10cc and the Hollys) playing hits from the 60's. 70's and 80's. They were very good world class musicians. I think that the audience would have liked to have had the opportunity to get up and dance.

Ship Rating : 4
Cunard standards and traditions are fantastic. The ship is grand and tastefully decorated. It is kept spotless. The standard of service is next to none and is wonderful. It is a large ship but there are plenty of places to get away from your fellow cruisers. It is a traditional liner and anyone expecting the modern trappings of the new cruise ships will be disappointed. In addition, anyone wanting to be loud, crass or wanting to wear football shirts, shorts and flip flops all day will also be disappointed and will feel out of place.

don't like the re mastering ballroom not easy to find being tucked away no one had a good word for it. Many of the staff never smiled ,never saw the officers except for cocktail party's.Enjoyed our holiday but next time will cruise on the Elizabeth or Victoria

Mrs M Gribble 11/05/2017

Cabin Rating : 3
The cabin was OK. It was clean and well serviced by the cabin staff, but, the bathroom was tired and could do with an update.

Dining Rating : 4
The dining was good. There was plenty of variety in the menus. The staff were friendly and attentive. The only down was the price of the wine plus the automatic 15% charge added. This meant an ordinary bottle of wine cost 46 US dollars and a mistake we made on our last evening was to order just 2 glasses of wine and that ended up costing 32 US dollars. I do think that part of the cruise is overly extortionate.

Entertainment Rating : 4
The entertainment overall was pretty good.

Ship Rating : 3
From our last trip on this ship, 5 years ago for our 25th wedding anniversary, it was disappointing in some areas especially as this was a celebration for our 30th. I do not think we will be booking again.
